The Final PR Events of 2017

Though there may not be as many workshops and professional development events in December in the Denver area, there are great holiday parties and mixers that will put you in the holiday spirit, while providing a great opportunity to network.

PRSA Holiday Party

PRSA is hosting its annual holiday party at Tavern Platt Park on Dec. 6. Tickets start at $15 for members and $30 for non-members.

AMA Colorado

AMA Colorado

AMA’s last industry mixer of 2017 will be held at Ground Floor Media, one of Colorado’s leading digital agencies. The mixer is free, though RSVPs are required.

Denver Press Club

The Denver Press Club is hosting two events in December, The Taxman Mixer and How We Got Here. The Taxman Mixer will be held Dec. 13 and feature Rachel Estabrook, Ben Markus and Nate Minor – creators of the Denver-based The Taxman Podcast on NPR. The creators will discuss how they spent months putting together one of the best area podcasts on the Taxpayer Bill of Rights.

How We Got Here will feature a panel of young journalists, all in their 20s, to discuss how they got into the business and what it’s like as a young professional. The event is focused toward high school and college students interested in working in the journalism field. Students should bring lists of questions and are encouraged to approach the panel after the discussion. Although the panel is set up for students, it is open to all.

Both events are free and will be held at the Denver Press Club.

If you can hardly believe it, the next blog will be highlighting events from 2018. See you next month!
